Manowar applies officially for the Guinness World Records for the longest Heavy Metal concert ever played in Bulgaria
An absolute record was set by the metal band Manowar with their concert on the 5th of July in Kavarna. The Kings of the Heavy Metal played in front of the thousands fans almost 5 hours without stopping which is something that no other band visited Bulgaria has ever made.
In fact the show applied officially for the Guinness World Records for the longest Heavy Metal concert ever played in Bulgaria.
Manowar appeared on stage at about ten o`clock in the evening after Holly Hell and Sixth Sense had already played. And there were of course hit songs after hit songs from all the band music periods and from all their albums. Probably there is no sense listing all the songs as we heard them all!
After the spectacular show in 2007 probably nobody has expected something more but this concert was obviously something more. We were the first to hear the new anthem of Manowar-“Die With Honor”.
Certainly, one of the most significant moments was the appearance of the Sofia philharmonic orchestra. An orchestra of women and a chorus of men sang together with Manowar several of their songs including “Warriors of the World” and “Hail and Kill”.
The mayor of Kavarna Tsonko Tsonev appeared at about 2 p.m. on stage to receive once again the applauses of Manowar. Then Manowar sang the Bulgarian national anthem which was followed by festive fireworks under the sounds of “The Crown and the Ring”.
After that metal fans from all over Bulgaria drank until sunrise beer in the nearby pubs and restaurants where could be heard only songs of Manowar.
